Understanding the structure of your results is the first step in the process of learning how to properly plan your training program. It's widely accepted that results at different distances (i.e. the level of development of physiological mechanisms responsible for energy production in each distance time category) are closely connected with each other. However, the structure of results at various distances is quite different for different types of athletes (i.e. sprinters vs. distance competitors). Another factor to consider is your age, since you need to know not only the current results structure, but also be able to forecast its progression over time.

Please keep in mind that each sport has a specific "preferred age" for the projected achievement of maximum results (consistent with World and Olympic levels).
