Proof Positive
There are lots of reasons to choose 3S, but the most important one is simply that IT WORKS... all the time... with swimmers of all abilities. And it doesn't require a PhD in advanced computer geek to do it either. You will meet your training goals, if you will just follow our suggested workouts. Oliver Koen, a nine-year-old from Swaziland, did just that and listen to his results!
Our season is finished now but we are still practicing every day until it gets too cold. It was Nationals (our main event) this weekend and teams from Botswana, South Africa, Mozambique and Swaziland took part. I followed your program and it worked very very well! The last two weeks we didn't practice hard, just technique with lots of starts & turns. Last year I only got one medal. This year I got 9 and won the junior victor ludorum as well.
My fly is much better now,
mom says practicing with the front snorkel got my rhythm right. Mom
will put my results in, but I wanted to tell you how I did myself.
Not everything in sports is
for the very young, the fastest or the most powerful. Swimming a
grueling 1500 m butterfly is a great accomplishment at any age, but
at 55, it's takes the heart of a true champion. Congratulations,
Dawn!
Blacktown Beaver’s
1500m Butterflier
Dawn
Thompson is a 55 year-old distance swimmer from Gilmore ACT and a
member of the Blacktown City Masters AUSSI Club in NSW. When told in
the ACT, the 1500m butterfly was frowned upon, Dawn set out to prove a
point, and completed the swim in a time of 34:28.41.
With
the assistance of 3S Certified Coach Jim Richardson (Head Coach
of the University of Michigan USA, Women's swim team), Dawn applied
herself to grueling training sets, generated by the 3S Parametric
Training System. She is a firm believer that you do not have to be the
fastest or slowest swimmer to be a champion.
"If
you set a goal and can accomplish that goal, then you are a true
champion in yourself. In my endeavour to complete this training, I also became of
member of the Active Leisure Centre in Erindale, ACT. Strength
training is a vital part of my training along with 3 – 4km sessions
in the water. I wish to thank Greg, Jean, Johnny and other members of
staff for their ongoing support and encouragement and to the patrons
of the pool for their friendship and support.
This
swim was not physically tough, however, a great mental challenge. I do
not recommend this swim for the faint hearted."
Dawn
is a swim coach herself but has recently retired from coaching to re
enter the workforce as a receptionist for CES Computers in Fyshwick,
ACT. Dawn is looking forward to swimming at the Campbelltown
meet in July and Mildura Masters
