Richmond also swept the A-10 Championship women's swimming awards as sophomore Lauren Hines was named the Most Outstanding Performer, freshman Mali Kobelja was honored as the Most Outstanding Rookie Performer and head coach Matt Barany (a 9 year 3S veteran) was named the Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career. "Along with winning the school's first Northeast Conference title in swimming, we broke every school record with the exception of one! In many cases (including one relay) we had more than one person break the school record. In the 500 Free - we had four people go under the school record! The win was fun, but watching the girls swim as confidently and as fast as they did was a lot of fun!
In hindsight, I know I only scratched the surface with the 3S
program. The program gave the athletes structure and routine
during a difficult time. I also believe that it gave the
athletes ownership over
their own training and performance during conference weekend.
They knew the 'work' they needed to get in on a weekly basis and
with parametric goals, HR
targets and pace times - they were able to be confident in their
preparation. I am not sure these are the primary goals of the
system - but
for us, they were critical. As I mentioned, I know there is so
much more
for us to take from the system. I am looking forward to
working with it for years to come. Thanks again,"

Head Coach

2010 Northeast Conference Champion
"I wanted to give you some specifics on my
success with the 3S program. Although I am 9 years out of
collegiate swimming (the last time I really trained consistently in
the water), I found myself racing within 1-2% of my collegiate
in-season times, and within 3% of my lifetime bests after only 3
months of training with 3S. I was shocked at how effective the
training was and how wonderful I felt during my training sessions.
I will recommend you guys to anyone.
Noelle Wilhite, Masters
“We had our conference meet Feb. 14-16 and saw some great results running the 3S system. We set 21 school records and had 11 MAAC conference champions… We've only scratched the surface of the system and I think we've only scratched the surface of improvement.”
Michael Hofman, Assistant Coach Swimming and Diving, Loyola College
"We had our school's first ever NCAA qualifier this season! She is seeded in the top 8. Everyone had big drops at conference. 4 out of 7 had lifetime bests in every event. The other three had season bests. In a season plagued by injuries, we had great results! "
Laura LeDuc, Coach
Agnes Scott College Women's Swim Team
"Our conference meet went extremely well. The girls nearly erased all of the school records. I am not amazed, based on my experience with 3S, even after all they've been through."
Rich Rogers, Ast. Coach
University of New Orleans Women’s Swim Team
"Best conference ever. 15 school records. Women had 13, 40 swims in the top 10 all-time.
Thanks!"
Thomas Johnson, Head Coach University of Wyoming Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving
"We had another successful season with all 23 swimmers swimming at least one personal best time. The average in the 12 events we track was 6 personal bests/swimmer. Our best swimmer at the State meet qualified 18th and raced to 3rd! Pretty exciting stuff for a high school swimmer. Thanks for the guidance."
